I consider
myself a hobby photographer. I love nature. I
have lived most of my life surrounded by
nature. Living in a small rural area in
Alabama, hunting and fishing was a way of life.
Grade school was a two room building with two
teachers dealing with first through sixth
grade. Lunch was home-cooked in what looked
like a church without a steeple. Most of the
thirty or so students were related in some way
or another. When we had recess, we headed
toward the woods and built forts and traps using
real knives and other tools that we hauled to
school over the weekend.
Having a real
passion for nature, however, does not make me an
“out-doorsy” type of guy. I hate camping, and I
would rather stay inside during hot weather.
But I enjoy coming out during the cool of the
day to take pictures of flowers, insects, birds
and other animals. I also love historic sites
of all kinds, and I really enjoy loading up
family or friends to visit local, state and
national parks or museums.
I’ve always
been an “artsy” type of guy. I see beauty in a
lot of the things that others pass by. I have
learned to appreciate places that may some day
fade away due to disrepair and/or lack of
concern. Photography gives me a chance to
express the beauty I see. I have a chance to
tell a story through my pictures that words
could never describe. Capturing that once in a
lifetime moment or scene is what I live for when
my camera is near.
When I am
separated from my camera I am a happily married
husband of a beautiful wife and father of two
wonderful children. I currently live in my
childhood home. My wife and I grew up not more
than three miles apart, and her daddy gave me
the first paying job I ever had at age… well, I
was in grade school and can’t remember. I do
know that after an hour I was tired of picking
watermelons!
Today, I serve
as an Executive Pastor, Television Producer and
Entrepreneur. I have authored two books and am
presently writing several more. While I do not
enjoy reading, I really love writing and
teaching people how to do things that I am
skilled in.
My plans are to
log the beautiful and or interesting photographs
on my website for all to enjoy and to capitalize
on that once in a life time shot that somebody
wants to purchase. Hopefully, I will soon
purchase additional equipment and learn from
others to improve my skills and techniques as an
amateur photographer. Did I mention how much I
love Photo Shop? Anyway, Email any questions or
comments you may have.
