How do I get started?
Make the call:  803-308-7976 - Contact Melvin to schedule an appointment for an introductory session which will form the foundation of our work to follow.

Are our sessions confidential?

Everything we discuss is absolutely confidential except for the admission, and any information concerning your direct participation in a fist degree felony crime.

Does my health insurance cover life coaching?

No.  Life coaching is not considered a medical practice.  In the future state laws may change the products and services covered under health insurance, which may include or provide partial payment for such services.

Do you provide life coaching for minors (persons under 18 years old)?

Yes.  All minors must be accompanied by at least one legal guardian during the entire session.  Payment must be received from a legal guardian for any service provided.

How much does life coaching cost?

Prices for life coaching services and programs depend on how many sessions and how long they are.  Sessions can be divided into how they will best accommodate your time while meeting your goals.  Most people receive coaching for two hours a month divided up in increments that accommodate busy schedules.  The initial session is free.  All subsequent sessions are billed at $40.00 per hour.  There are discounts available.  Top of page

How long will I need a life coaching?

There is no clear answer to that question; however, during our session you will receive constant coaching on not only assessing your goals but in knowing when you have reached them.  In short, you will know when you are able to take flight on your own.  I ask that clients make a three month commitment to the coaching to give it a full chance to demonstrate its effectiveness. This is not a financial commitment but a psychological one.

How convenient will my sessions be?
Life coaching can be conducted on the phone in the convenience of your home or office.  One of the greatest outcomes achieved is simplifying your life.  Right from the start we will take steps to make all sessions fit both our busy schedules.  I do not keep regular office hours; instead, I make myself available at most any time.  Exceptions will include times that I am already scheduled or have family and personal obligations.

How is life coaching different from counseling and psychotherapy?
Life coaching starts with today and prepares you for the future.  We do little examination of the past, just enough to give us the information to build a better tomorrow.  While we often deal with problems and healing from the past, our focus is moving your life beyond yesterday and today.  Counseling and psychotherapy directs a great amount of emphasis on the past.

How much input do I have in directing our sessions?

Sessions are ALL about you.  Sometimes as a coach all I need to do is listen, other times sessions may involve trench warfare to see you accomplish your goals.  Our pace depends on your own assessment of our accomplishments.
